Please have a look at the timetable and decide which class is most convenient/suitable to you and either give me a call or send me an email to check on availability.

Our classes are really popular but places are sometimes available so please do call even if it is towards the end of term.

Who we are

Hello, I’m Virginia Martin and I run Jo Jingles in Stroud, Cirencester, Swindon, Cheltenham and Gloucester areas (see our class venues for more details of where & when).

I  have been running Jo Jingles classes in Gloucestershire for nearly 10 years. Between myself and my class teach Rosie (Blackwood) we run classes in Stroud, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bishops Cleeve and Swindon. We are both passionate about the benefits of introducing young children to music and movement and we hope this passion and enthusiasm is evident in our class delivery.

Our classes

Jo Jingles classes are run for children between the ages of three months to 5 years and our classes are endorsed by speech therapists, health visitors, educational consultants and government-funded early years organisations.
The classes are planned specifically with the child's developmental age in mind. We don't expect the impossible from children who attend our classes (yes, bashing a tambourine does count as playing an instrument!). Programmes are carefully written considering educational points as well as lots of fun activities. Our creative music-making classes incorporate singing, movement, playing instruments and listening. Children in the 3 – 4 year age group are still having fun but are being introduced to music as an overall subject, learning about the 4 basic notes, rhythm, pitch, classical music and group work. They often go on to learn a musical instrument at an earlier age because of this.

And a “Hello” from Jo

Jo is the heart and soul of our classes. He is extremely friendly and actively participates in all of our classes. At the start of each session he welcomes all children with a smile, a wave and a cuddle. Then he might sing or dance or pretend to be a train driver, a monkey or even a teapot.

Sometimes he hides and we have to look for him. Sometimes he falls asleep and he needs some help to wake up. Sometimes he is shy and we have to encourage him to join in with the fun. But he always makes time for plenty of hugs and kisses when it’s time for the children to say goodbye.

“If you’re looking for somewhere to take your child Jo Jingles could be the ideal club to join…The classes seem to install confidence in the children to perform by themselves as well as to participate in group activities. However classes are not purely music orientated, they have an educational slant too….Classes are small which keeps the environment informal and friendly, and each session is well structured, moving it along at a fairly swift pace. The enthusiasm of the teacher quickly rubs off on the children and most seem eager to join in.”
